Sometimes, things just come together.
Shells left over from a pound of shrimp, simmered for half an hour and then strained to make stock.
A can of white beans from the cupboard.
A little leftover cream.
Surprisingly full-flavored, considering the short list of ingredients. But there's something about the way these particular tastes and textures came together that really excelled. I made it for me, on a whim, but next time I'll make it for other people, on purpose.
